Health is wealth-Part I
I would like to believe that we all have a little observer in us. We like to observe a lot of things. Sometimes it could be as petty as observing someone while he/she is walking. A certain pattern on crockery, walls, clothes, some people like to observe how clean a place is, etc. I think its a good thing to do. It keeps your mind active. I read somewhere that if you want your brain to be active, up & running through out your life then start keeping it extremely occupied with thoughts, ideas, songs, little 2nd track chats inside your brain, etc.
That was just one part of it. I'd like to share a few things that I observed, read, heard & started inculcating them in my day-to-day life. While surfing the net, I came across a few videos on Yoga & read few articles on the same which clearly mentioned that meditation &basic breathing exercises (Pranayamas) plays an essential role to keep your mind & body active & evergreen for many decades. It is the purest form of treatment one can get to heal from physical & mental stress.
Today, it has started to become more & more evident how Ayurveda & Yoga are taking over Allopathy. Not that Allopathy is of any less importance. It is most definitely required for bone fractures, terminal illnesses, body organs failure, surgeries, etc. However, for other controllable disorders & diseases like cough problems, body aches, different types of migraines, aging, pale skin, acid reflux, etc., yoga can be of a great help & that too not for a short while, but for a permanent relief.
All it really asks for is regularity. You have to be disciplined & a true believer in what you do & follow it religiously. I have read testaments on blogs & few other sites where people claim to regain eye sight after following Pranayamas for 3 months & more. Defeating a dangerous eye disease such as Glaucoma where a person becomes partially or fully blind has been cured through Pranayamas is nothing less than a miracle. People have also claimed to get a major relief from an age old Arthritis pain & are able to walk, run, sprint without any fear of immense pain in their joints.
Yoga & Ayurveda comes from ancient times. Our ancestors were the ones who learned a lot of things from initial self survival & near death experiences in those times, be it natural calamities, extreme weather conditions, or anything that can be life threatening. Obviously, there were no certified doctors in those times. I like to believe that people in those times, tried & tested a lot of things & eventually were able to succeed. The best thing they did was that they wrote down (or somehow made note of things that can be referred to later on...) those various life savings techniques & medicines, which we today know as Yogasanas & Ayurveda.
It has been inherited to us from generations to generations & also has a pretty good success rate.
I feel that instead of investing a lot of money on lot of unwanted things, one can try to invest 30-40 minutes of their time in a day to the right Pranayamas & meditation techniques. Besides that, one can also try few other things like intake 12-13 glasses of water in a day, a watch on what one eats on daily basis, understanding the pros & cons of eating unhygienic food. You know, a little awareness would do wonders.
So that was all from me on my favorite topic of discussion. I shall be back with something else next time. Feel free to leave a comment on my blog. Till then, good bye, have fun & stay healthy.
